I want to point out posts that make me cringe on here and I imagine non-Muslims would just laugh at but it makes me feel bad. In future should I just say it or just skip past without taking much notice? Would you be offended if I said it to you?

Could you perhaps change the quote? To e.g. verily in remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest?

I dislike this. E.g. people spell "Mecca" as "Makkah", what happens to this five number thing then?

I'm not a fan of these things

Don't get the competition that diverts you ?

Diverts as in distracts, something which makes you turn away [from something else]

Competition in worldly increase, i.e the competition to exceed one another in worldly matters.

Maybe this translation (Yusuf Ali) will make it clearer for you:

"The mutual rivalry for piling up (the good things of this world) diverts you (from the more serious things)"

[Surah Takathur verse 1]

Wordly things that divert you from Allah. That is why intention is important and you should do everything fisabilillah.

'We are lost in the beauty of the distractions of the world, we stay needlessly busy in chasing, and thus away from the remembrance of Allah.'
This means that such an activity keeps us busy and distracts us from what we should really be doing. We are wasting our time on something that is less important. The time that we spend in piling up material goods or accumulating more and more wealth could be spent on something more important.

Sahih International
They will wish to get out of the Fire, but never are they to emerge therefrom, and for them is an enduring punishment.

What if your bettering the world or learning e.g. science? I rememeber somewhere in the Quran it said Knowledge was important. I would love to go before God and tell him" I used everything you gave me ".Hence the dedication to knowledge and using it for the better and improvement of lives.

So basically people like unscrupulous bankers violate that quote?
