Standard. Insurance is the killer.
If you go any cheaper for the car, you risk spending a tonne on repairs/MOT.

Also depends what car it is. If you're dead set on that car, sure it might be worth it, but if you're not then try going for a car in a cheaper insurance bracket.

It's in group 2, so you could get a cheaper car, but really it's not going to be a huge saving.

Mine is a 2008 Corsa 1.2, group 4, no black box, can't remember what the company was as I didn't sort it myself but it was definitely only around £1000...

I'm guessing you live in a low risk area?
That is definitely a hell of a bomb you're gonna have to pay for insurance. I'm 18 and only passed 5 months before I got a car and insurance costed me about £950. I have the black box fitted and I'm with admiral with a Peugeot 107, 61 reg. I have a friend that's with Ingenie and her insurance was about £1100 for a 52 reg Toyota yaris. I know someone else whose insurance is about £1000 for a Corsa 61 reg but I'm not sure what insurance company.
My car is known for lower insurance brackets so I'd definitely get something similar. It's the same with the Citroen C1 and Toyota Aygo as these are all very similar cars. Once you find a car with a lower insurance bracket, all the insurance companies will offer a price that's relatively similar.

its not an excellent idea to have a black box in your car, coz if u mess up once by going too fast or something, your insurance will be more costly the next time, and other insurance companies will know. so even though it is cheaper with a bb, dont have it unless ur really confident and droive safely and well

What the hell. Im 19 and have had my license for 9 months and also have a pass plus certificate. You probably live in a low risk area.
I also just done a quote on a Peugeot 107 1.0 and this has come higher than the Aygo at £3464.60. This is confusion.

Yes absolutely insurance wise.
Area drastically changes insurance quotes.
Where I live in zone 1 London insurance is about 3-6 thousand, depending on if you want blackbox or not.
Where my sister lives in Hayes Bromley, outer skirts of London insurance is about 2-3 thousand.
