Wanting to teach myself Portuguese

I'm trying to learn my mothertongue too! What I like to do is sit down with my grandma and watch movies with her - and I tell her to correct me on literally EVERYTHING. (also it's sweet cause she gets really happy I spend time with her too )

So ask your family to speak to you in Portuguese if they can And also watch movies cause that's quite fun

Unfortunately the last native speaker in my family died some years ago, but thanks for the tip

And try to resist subtitles

for me when learning foreign languages subtitles were actually great help - provided they're in the language the movie is in you can often find subs for deaf people etc. and they make it a lot easier to understand the spoken language initially

Which I think is quite useful for beginners, it has all the verbs at the back and gives you info on Brazillian and Portuguese language structures, good luck!

50 quid!? Are all uni books this expensive??

Unfortunately yes, you can find cheaper versions online but I just thought that'd be a good one to look out for, if you're using it recreationally, I'm sure you can find the older editions at a much cheaper price
