Ask your DoS when you go up.

@vincrows might tell her story about her daughter's DoS also reading out people's PSs at a dinner so everyone can guess who's is who's...

My parents, literally years ago, promised to buy me a new bicycle if I ever got an offer from Cambridge. Plus, I've realised that I suck at driving and so if I go to Edinburgh or UCL, I'll have a nice, environmentally friendly mode of transport!
I love walking but I have a v v minor phobia of cycling since childhood (and seeing all these students riding without helmets in Cambridge gives me the sheebies, protect those beautiful brains!). Will walking probably suffice in Cambridge? Anywhere it would be hard to walk to? Luckily I have an offer at Newnham which is very near Sidgwick site.

Ah fair enough

If you are reading Linguistics at Newnham you will hardly need it

Walking is great! Cambridge really isn't that spread out except for some colleges and some facilities. If you are at a reasonably central college then walking is always a good (and safe  ) option.

A very quaint wicker one, very Mary Poppins-esque. I aim to ride around with a kitten in it, or perhaps a bunch of freshly cut flowers.
