Anyone else hate it when people walk slow af

Scroll to see replies

I cba for people lately and 95% of the time I genuinely feel like just walking into them from behind.
I walk more quickly than a lot of people (I always have done), because I just can't seem to 'stroll', like I have to make a conscious effort to walk slowly. As a result, it does annoy me when people in front of me are walking slowly, especially if it's a group of people walking side by side so I can't get by or have to go off the path to get round them, or if they are looking at their phones etc. I don't mind if they are elderly or disabled though
Truee I've actually come across a couple people who do make a fuss. Very unreasonable people they are. It's acc one of the reasons why i made this thread. Bc some people walk slow and have the audacity to complain when u simply ask them to allow u to pass. It's as if you're messing up their lives by asking em to move aside or something
I usually don't care at all bc people obviously aren't consciously thinking that they will hinder other people, but the other day I was running late to a lecture (bc of me being silly) and I got off the bus and these people were walking and talking really slowly and I couldn't walk on the side of the path bc it was sludgy and muddy so I just felt like time just stopped for a bit tbh

My new and pristine shoes ended up a muddy mess later that evening though, people were standing and not listening and it was raining and I was hungry it was a slippery experience and the back of my jeans got muddy too

I guess I do kinda mind a little then
I lived in Covent Garden for a bit and it was an absolute nightmare. My wife would shout "this is a pavement, not a promenade" at tourists.

It's so annoying. Whenever I decide to walk slow I'll try and keep to the side and I look behind every other minute. I can't stand it when people walk slow in busy areas it's pathetic. I can understand small areas where it's not busy but even then they should have the decency to look behind them and make sure no one is being held up. Although I'm the type of guy that would rather walk slow behind them then overtake them :frown: it's just so awkward

Ikrrr the few times that i feel like walking slow, i always move to the side so I'm not in the way. Or even when I'm walking with my friends in a group i always make them move out of the way to let other people pass. It's common courtesy i say!
Yeah i agree it can be quite awkward for those 5 seconds that ur walking beside them while ur trying to walk ahead. Anyway it's one thing if you're walking slow behind everyone, it's another if you're in the way ya know.

LOL u mean you're just gonna end up pishing them  i like your style
But i dont like to be mean to others, it's just that i can get really impatient when they take up all the space and don't let you pass.

Exactly! Same here tbh. My friends don't get it whem i tell them that walking slow actually gives me a leg ache! And yeah disabled/elderly are deffo exceptions. And most of them are quite conscious that they're slow so they usually move aside anyway

Uh oh. I sometimes walk slowly, but it's because i have tiny legs and i have take twice as many steps to catch up with my taller friends which tires me out pretty quickly

SO YOU WERE THAT SHORT KID THAT MADE ME MISS MY TRAIN

Kidding :h:

That's actually so cute  i mean there are certain exceptions anyway so don't be too put down. But it's just irritating when people don't move out of the way when there's clearly people behind them trying to get past.
In the street, not really, plenty of room to go around them. When they're blocking up the isles in a shop or supermarket though, FFS...

Yes, it's very annoying! I walk very quickly anyway, and tend to have little patience for those who don't (unless they're elderly and can't help it, of course)

Apparently in some cities the problem has gotten so bad that they've started installing slow and fast lanes into the pavement...

WE NEED THIS IN LONDON!!
It's not so sooo bad, it's just those few occasions when you really need to get somewhere and they're just blocking your way.

Yeah exactly, most of the time it doesn't bother me. It's just when people are extra, extra, unbelievably slow. Like can you try to increase your speed past 1mph at the very least. And wow that sounds like a really crappy but relatable day. It's deffo worse when it's pouring with rain.

ESPECIALLY IN LONDON :argh:
Like if you walk slow in front of me, imma kick yo arse to the countryside.
I mean it's one thing if you move aside, but if you're in the middle of the street or in the way when we're taking the underground then :backstab:

Or maybe it's me. Maybe i walk too fast. When I'm with my mates i walk at my pace and the rest of them are like 2 metres behind me. All you see is me stopping, screwing at them (but as a joke coz I'm not thaaaat mean) and then tryna drag them all forward.

Anyone else relate??

But I wasn't in a rush...?

I naturally walk fast whether I'm in a rush or not.
You Sir, need to get out da way! Unless you want me to give you a free flight to the countryside?
ppl that walk in groups and those that can't walk in a straight line on the road...
ffs..is it that hard to not walk in a zig zag pattern?
YESSS!! FINALLY...SOMEONE WHO UNDERSTANDS!

I agree...I'm such a fast walker..every person I know has said to me this. I speed ahead..

hehe sorry about that  but yeah I move out of the way when people try to get past my friends though sometimes don't realise how much i trail behind them because they take much wider steps haha

yeah me, especially when its a bloody old person... on the tube... during rush hour!

and whilst walking up the stairs they just suddenly decided to stop so they can fumble with their bags

So tempted to knock them out, annoying old timers

Its like why do you even need to be here... at this very time? You don't work, you probably don't even have anything to do with your day. Couldn't you travel at a different time... or in a different way? take the damn bus like all you oldies do
I find my friends walking leisurely towards the high street for lunch/going to the bus stop annoying - just work those legs a little faster so we can have more time for lunch/get home quicker! :creep:

(I guess the stroll is part of the socialising - I'm no expert evidently)

But be it the elderly, pushchairs or even crowds of friends, I'm too shy to excuse myself, so if I find a gap, you can be sure I'll take that lane ASAP :auto: I've mastered the art of 'slipping-through' from my experience in school corridors of course; so fun to find a path for yourself to get ahead of the snails in front :kart:

You mean when ur crossing and the end up walking in front of you? I do that sometimes when I'm in a rush. I walk diagonally so i can get to where i need to be faster  in my defence, when i cross most people are walking the same way so they end up walking like that too.

Wow  most of the old people i've come across on trains were actually really nice to me and they usually move out of the way. Although there's a couple moody ones here and there.

I like the way you worded your whole post hehe xD
Finally! Someone who understamds how annoying it is to have a geoup of friends who walk toooo damn slowly and waste time! I literally have to keep turning back to them when we're talking just so i can jeep track of the conversation.

Lmao I literally just feel like pushing past everyone on a busy street, especially after getting out of the train station for work. Like move it or lose it b*tches!!

Oh damn. I went covent garden the other day and was literally just getting lost between all the tourists. Would not like to live there although it is a really beautiful area
Standing right at the bottom of the Tube escalators pretending to read a tourist map, and thereby winding up the locals, is one of the few good reasons to go to London!
Rammed, overpriced tip.
