English Language Paper 2 Techniques & Devices
Okay so I have an English Language Paper 2 exam on Monday and i've got an adequate list of devices and examples of them ect. But just for revision purposes could you guys help me form a long list of possible devices which could show up in GCSE and also their effect on the reader and their purpose, thanks in advance😄
Strong adjectives/verbs etc = emphasis or immersion
Hyperbole = convey the writer's emotion
Metaphor = paints a visual image and/or immersion
Simile = same as above
Onomatopoeia = immersion
Semantic/lexical fields = immersion
Emotive language = invoke emotion in the reader
Rhetoric (Direct Address, Rule of 3, R. Questions) = emphasis/invokes emotion/strengthens argument
Alliteration = adds to tone of piece, immersing reader
