Look at the course and assess whether it interests you.
Talk to the teacher and students.
Do you do any coding in your spare time?

I would think its common for people not to have done the GCSE.

Do you have an affinity for maths?

will I be able to do ok ?

i'd definitely say you should learn a coding language before you start - preferably find out which language you'd use at the sixth form you want to go to. it'd definitely be possible, but some things you might need to catch up a bit on if you have no knowledge of computing.

I have studied ICT at Gcse level will that be okay ?

ict isn't the same as computing at all. you should be okay as long as you work hard (& i'd still suggest you learn to program, even if it's very basic), but if you're thinking it's going to be like ict i'd suggest you check the specification and see if it really is something you'd like

Yes, you learn to program at GCSE. Although they'd presumably cater for those who don't know (because obviously you don't have to take GCSE to do A-Level), it'd definitely be good for you to at least know the basics.
