it was certainly an experience! I found it genuinely really tough to be surrounded by mathematicians who knew what was going on, but I've certainly learned a lot. I got a pass in my Prelims (115/120 of everyone who passed .) It translated to a 2:2, however I learned a lot about how to study, and what I need to be looking at throughout the year. How did first year go for you?
I can relate to the first part I found first semester really tough as I felt like I didn't deserve my place and that I wasn't good enough for the course (a mixture of getting into uni despite missing my offer and finding the course difficult were responsible for that!) but eventually things settled down and I ended up feeling more comfortable and enjoying myself! I ended up getting a first (only just lol but still - 70.9) which I was chuffed with! The good thing is you've learnt a lot about how you work which I'm sure will help you out loads in future years I definitely learnt a lot about myself in first year
