What laptop for UNI (Med School)?

I was wondering if anyone could help me with what laptop to get. I was thinking of a MacBook or a microsoft surface book pro. I have a laptop atm but its too noisy as it is gaming.
What are you planning to use it for?

General use, taking notes, research, watch videos, etc

Just wondering why it being noisy and "gaming" (?) is a problem.

Literally any laptop would probably be ok for that, I imagine.

are you planning on handwriting notes? I've recently decided that I want to do this as it will help with memorization. if so, go for the iPad Pro, there are many videos on youtube on how to use it for uni, its great for med students. you can also choose to get a detachable keyboard. check some videos out and see if that's what your into as I've seen its benefitted many other med students
what other iPad like devices do you recommend that are cheaper than apple? the surface pro 7 doesnt have as much storage which is a big thing for me
I would prefer 1TB, why do you say the iPad air over the iPad pro?
are there any major disadvantages of the ipad pro that would affect me in uni?
Some incredibly expensive recommendations given OP's very basic needs on this thread..
£500 still isn't cheap! "General use, taking notes, research, watch videos, etc" - you can do that for like £200 come on.
