You can argue the open secret is part of the medium. It would be boring as **** (assuming it isn't. I find it absurd now but loved it as a kid) if the commentators were like "wow what a fake punch that was".
Also you get movies and books pretending that they're "based on a true story". It's arguably an aesthetic technique.

LVG said he wanted to entertain the fans - assume he meant that only in terms of the second half than the first. Rashford's goal was lovely, bullet finish but his overall play is wonderful.
Will be interesting to see what LVG says.
