You might want to learn how to use apostrophes and punctuation before describing anything as 'degenerate'.

I know how to spell, the two errors were a typing mistake, and anyway Southampton is a degenerate city.

Erm...I don't know? Come if you want, don't come if you don't want to - we're not here to sell the university!

I know, but I WANT you to sell it to me!
Then I can choose
I've only been to one of my 5 choices, eek.
Because it's not an awful university in terms of academic reputation...?

Pretty much all I know about it.

There are good shops in Soton! That's all I can tell you as I only live here; I don't go to the uni. Though it has a very good reputation

Sadly, we university students have degrees to be studying for...you'll have to research it yourself! Of course, if you have any specific questions, then we can help...

Because you deserve to study there judging from the content of your post.

YES! Love the shopping here.

(That's not the only reason I came here, but it tipped the balence a bit)
why don't you go on open days to the other unis to help you choose. I made sure i went to all of my choices before i accepted any offers (lucky otherwise i would have dismissed southampton completely!)
Ugh. Thanks for the help...

Wtf does that mean?
Have you ever read one of my posts before?
I was only asking for some friendly advice from current students.
Funny that when I ask about Warwick I get all nice responses. It was just a question, idiot.

Southampton is a really friendly university (despite the picture being created by these people!!) It is in the South of England so usually more sun! :-) Good links to Isle of White and close enough to London and central places for transport. The Uni itself is very pretty, set in lovely grounds with a stream running through the middle, which has cute little ducklings in the spring! To say it is in a city centre it doesn't have that feel at all.

The common is also a huge selling point (was for me anyway) and is great for chilling out and relaxing with friends, having bbqs or playing some sport. The shopping centre itself isn't fantastic and i agree that some areas look run down, but West Quay is all you need really, plus there's a big Primark (essential for fancy dress) and TK Maxx.

The Docks are something different, with nice bars around and Oxford Street is worth a look (you can google it).

There are loads of clubs and bars o you will not be stuck for a night out!! Portswood, Bedford place and the city centre are the main areas. We also have a new Oceana which is nice for a big night out to dress up for!!

There are two good cinemas. We have a dry ski slope. Excellent sports facilities- literally at uni you can do ANYTHING you want!!! Name it and you could do it here!!

Any other questions just ask me... oh one lastthing. i'd say southampton is definitely a student town. (and the New Forest is close :-)

Well, why should I?

(Presuming I get an offer, that is...)

Current students answer please :p:

Hi, first i do not see Southampton in your choices??

However Southampton!! I can say WOW!!
I have applied there and got an offer today WOOO!
Southampton was one of the only two unis i looked at which i have applied for (I had visited others but i hated them compared to Southampton such as Sheffield).

When I visited Southampton, it was overwhelming. Just by walking into the main campus, it was full of greenery and there was this massive green area of grass in the centre of everything and everyone was just chilling there! It seemed so homely!! It seemed very friendly!!
They have a lot of appealing things!!

First mm the halls! I loved them!
They were spacious, very nice. They had a group of halls together like a Village with a bar and other stuff for people to socialise. The rooms were nice and they were better than the other places I have seen (Loughborough and Sheffield). AND FREE BUS PASS IF YOU LIVE IN HALLS!

Secondly Sports, they are everywhere! A lot of facilities and a membership is very cheap!

The library is massive and i hear there is wifi nearly all over the uni ( i do not know if this is true)

A lot of clubs etc you get that everywhere so i wont go on about that

The student cinema looked realy good!

Southampton are very good getting you a job or a placement year!

All of the campus seemed welcoming!!

Also the societies! There are so many GOOD ones! And a lot of watersports things you could do (I think) lol

Also Southampton football club (if you like footy)

As you are a girl! The Quay Shopping Centre! I went there and it was very good!

The person who created the World Wide Web was at Southampton

Also watch this video! It is very good! It got me even more excited about uni! http://www.soton.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/video/index.shtml

I visited there and just talking to the people, and just looking at the campus! I knew it was for me! It just felt right! It took my breath away!

And the campus is very very nice in my opinion!!

Hope my opinion helps!
