East Slope Car Park Party, 18th June 2005

OK, this is thread for anyone who is at Sussex or for anyone who is planning to go...In fact, I think these pictures just give people a good idea of what Uni life is all about.

Sussex have been building a few new car parks around campus, they've just finished the one on the hill opposite Bramber House, just beside the last flat on the right of East Slope. My mates just happen to live in that flat :biggrin:

Anyway, a few days before everyone decided that since it wasn't being used for anything, it might be a good idea to have some sort of party there. We've had a few stand-out house parties, and 2 raves in the woods/fields behind Sussex this year, but this one HAD to be bigger! Several car trips later and we had 650 cans of beer, a few bottles of spirits, crates of Coke and lemonade and the DJ equipment...Oh yes, it was indeed coming together :biggrin:

Last picture I took...If you're in the first year you'll probably have noticed a lot of the chalking that went on this year...Well...Me and my mates were responsible...Here's one of the better one :biggrin:

Now this wasn't actually the last one...There was one on Friday 24th June, but I had left by then! I hear the last one was pretty crazy and didn't actually finish until 7:30am...

Anyone going into their first year in October, carry on the tradition!

one hint for the future though...always clear it with security before you go on the booze run - we cocked it up doing that before and, we had a supremely alcoholic, but broke, 6 weeks.

Just found this and i am literally going crazy...can't stop saying oh my god!

I was at this rave...in fact I am a member of flat 31...beautiful picture thanks dan :wink:

...I am not even joking - this was amazing. If you are thinking about coming to Sussex next year, there is no question of a doubt, when we party, we do it properly. And for all those who like to diss the quality of the Hothouse, it, to me, is the best club EVER. The people that go, the atmosphere - its all just one of a kind (lol). Seriously, this is the best university in the world, and those who disagree, are stupid. Nuff said.

im planning to go sussex. seems like such a good uni. jus wonderin is there like many forums with sussex students on cos i can only find one or two small ones

hey i go sussex, and yeah i know wat u mean, theres a proper lack of forums. theres this one and then the one on yahoo (groups.yahoo.com/group/sussexuni). its a bit rubbish that there's so few people, i dunno why though, loads of people have msn and stuff from uni.

yeah it would be so much better if there was a massive forum or group thingy where loadza students were on and could get to know loadza ppl that go to the uni. maybe someone should start something like that up n try n get loadza ppl to join like over msn or something.

well i created that yahoo group, so we'll see there. i'll try with the people on my msn, but i reckon the student union website needs revamping, to be perfectly honest its shi t. i wanna get involved in it next year so i'm gonna find out how i can do so. but i know exactly what you mean

Hmm...

Brighton Uni has a forum, it's *****, but at least they have something. It'd be a good idea to suggest a revamp, as the current USSU site is ****. I know the Union is having budget problems, but still!

I'll upload them all full size when I get around to it, I'm not on my comp at the minute, so it's a bit difficult. I have about 4 people on my MSN list from Uni, so I dunno how helpful I'd be...

Katie, I'll let you and Dave picket outside the Union building...Then if all else fails you can just jump into the queue for the HH :biggrin:
