Objectification ie 'I picked up the red apple and ate it.' or 'the sun was a ball of fire (essentially) and shone brightly.'

it is more around the line of (this is not in the question)

He had diamond eyes and a ruby grin.

I know that they are metaphors and are the opposite of personification but there must be a word to use when describing the imagery??

It's really just a regular metaphor. The Cambridge mini glossary of literary terms explains:
Metaphor: the transfer of a quality or attribute from one thing or idea to another in such a way as to imply some resemblance between the two things or ideas: 'his eyes blazed' implies that his eyes become like a fire.

It is a bit misleading to think of that as 'reverse personification'.
My first thought was objectification but I don't think it is...

Reification?

" Note that reification is generally accepted in literature and other forms of discourse where reified abstractions are understood to be intended metaphorically"
