Biology/ biological sciences applicants for 2013 entry

which universities are you looking at?

Just Southampton because I'm mainly applying to BioMed but I really like the biology course at Southampton. ^_^

Hi,
I want to study biosciences too, and finally found this thread!
I'm looking at Exeter, Bath, Nottingham and York but stuck for a fifth at the moment.
Exeter is by far my favourite - beautiful campus and great course.
What has everyone done as concerns extended reading and work experience which I don't think are absolute necessities but rather added bonuses when applying?

I'm sure we've completely hijacked the thread =D (should probably move to your thread!)
I've heard they're not so brilliant as well...I wish the school teachers marked our exam papers and then send them off for moderation like c/w.

Have you done any extended bio research projects?

It's when I start the AS subjects I'm picking up

I've done some in conjunction with Southampton university and I'm picking up some extra bio work this year in the form of anat&phys classes, biology olympiad, extension biology and workshop helper

What about you?

You're picking up more subjects in addition to A2s???

I might apply there! Ah wow...that'll look great on your behalf, I've just done a measly bio essay for the school to publish

I'm doing a third year: I already have A2s in economics, history and general studies and I'm doing A2 hum. bio this year in addition to AS chem and either geog/ environmental science/ psychology

My college has connections with Southampton biosciences so we have quite a few lectures from them

and 4000 posts

I was quite ill in AS-A2 being in and out of hospital

We've had an Oxford lecturer come in that was brilliant

What can I say? My college's biology department is amazing

We even have a mascot- a little baby rat

Oh yeah? We have a chameleon

That' pretty awesome

We also have a fish tank and the college cat

I'll give you one for the cat, but terrapins are pretty bad ass

Looks like our schools are practically zoos haha
