Can I study medicine with a diagnostic radiography degree?

I want to become a radiologist (doctor) and I know that this year I most likely wont be getting into medicine. So I was planing on studying biomedical science and then apply to medicine later as a postgraduate. It was when I was writing my personal a statement that I was finding it very difficult to. I realised it was because I don't actually know if I'm certain I want to study this. There was also something I read that there are so many postgraduate medicine applicants all flooding in with a biomedical science degree, that they stared to take on less of these students and were more interested in other degrees. So I was thinking, I know I want to become a radiologist and my enthusiasm for X-rays has always been long ignited. Could I study instead diagnostic radiography and then apply to medicine later where I can the specialise in this specialty? I know it will be something I will enjoy studying and I know I won't have to worry about whether I'll enjoy it or not.

but I haven't hard of anyone studying this and then later going onto study medicine, it's mainly all the biology and chemistry based subjects. Will universities accept it?

Thanks!
