Unconditional Offer ?

Hi, so I would like to know if it is possible to choose an unconditional offer as your back up? or will that cancel your firm choice ?

Yes, you can, but you can't do it the other way around. An unconditional firm has no insurance, but a conditional firm can have an unconditional insurance.

I'm sorry to stop you there, but that is wrong.

"By accepting an unconditional offer you are committing to go to that uni or college. You can't make an insurance choice or be entered into Clearing."

I beg to differ:

What Ucas is referring to in the link you supplied is choosing an unconditional as a firm choice. As it says, in that case you can't have an insurance choice. The other way round (which it doesn't mention there, and I admit it's misleading on casual skim reading) is fine.
