Manchester is supposed to be a good university for physics as it has high quality research and has a tradition in physics with many Nobel prize winners in it (some of them are among its current staff) but its national ranking isn't that high. However, how good is Manchester's reputation/prestige seen for this subject when compared to, say, Imperial and Cambridge out of interest?
