I think there's a few factors to this;the breadth/ size of your jaw, how 'edgy' / sharp your jaw is, and how much facial fat you have. The past couple of years my jaw/ chin has gotten a bit bigger and slightly sharper, but annoyingly I still have a bit too much face chub which doesn't do it justice and makes me look younger than I actually am. So I would not say I have a defined jawline.
It's definitely a common feature among British people and Scandinavians as well.
