German woman evicted from home to make way for refugees

This really is quite a sad story, and apparently there have been a number of similar cases.

It's astonishing that the German government has been happy to accept close to a million illegal immigrants into Germany in the last 12 months, a shocking figure that completely dwarfs anything that has been seen since WW2. It seems like they don't have any care for how this will affect their people.

Interestingly, this Bloomberg article says that another 900,000 could arrive in the final quarter of 2015 on top of the 600,000 who have already come this year. Shocking

Disgrace If i did not have the space for them I would not of kicked my own people out for infiltrators
And yet here we have racists who discriminate against people doing nothing to them.

That's sooo benevolent of the German people though. Respect them for trying really hard. Just a shame someone had to suffer for it.. Perhaps they need to draw the line
Can we have a source other than the Daily Mail please, as the Mail has a track record of distorting the truth and even downright lying.

For a bit of perspective, this would have not even been reported if she had been evicted to make way for a new road. People are evicted from their homes for many different reasons all the time. This has only been reported because we perceive that a fine upstanding member of the community, a nurse no less, has more right to her dignity than someone we vilify as human vermin - the common refugee.

As for Germany's policy on immigration. It is a very mature policy. They accept that refugees will come regardless of any border control. They also understand that closing the borders would cause more harm to Germans going about their daily lives.

Unlike in the UK where we set an arbitrary limit of say 100,000 non-EU migrants and then look surprised to discover that 200,000 came. So we knee jerk and tighten immigration but then hordes of holiday makers kick up a stink when it takes them 6+ hours to get through security when they come home.

Its disgusting that Germany, Italy and Greece don't care about the ethno-cultural makeup of their country.

If these places want a million immigrants then open the border with North America but keep this third world horde out, we don't want them.

The women did an interview with a German paper that has been picked up by The Telegraph as well: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/germany/11891631/German-woman-threatened-with-eviction-to-make-way-for-refugees.html

The Daily Mail is a rag but at least read the article before dismissing it as rubbish.

Whilst I still think the telegraph is a rag and a Tory part cheerleader, it's miles more reliable than the effing daily mail.
It's ridiculous to cite a tabloid paper as a reliable news source.
Broadsheets only.

Germany are doing a wonderful thing while many others are looking the other way and turning their backs.

The Germans have so far taken a pretty ad hoc approach to this crisis. Merkel has shown little appreciation for her voters or even coalition partners and is alienating both. Her approval rating is lower now than it ever has been. Sure they might be doing a wonderful thing but one that is going to damage Germany if it is done as simply as throwing open the borders and inviting everyone in.

There may be more to this story than it seems but if they are evicting Germans from housing to make way for refugees then something is seriously wrong. The state's first duty should be to its own population.

No offence but that is hypocritical of you when you have used The Guardian in the past

The guardian is a reliable broadsheet newspaper - the daily mail is a comic book.
Ask any academic which they feel is more reliable as a source.
Grow up.

That is the intellectual level of the bonkers left on this site. They can't address the issue, so they attempt to trash the source without even reading it.

It is pitiful, it really is. Is it any surprise that in the country at large most people don't give a toss about their bleatings, and the Government, quite rightly, is standing firm at 20,000 migrants over five years?

Yet she's saving hundreds of thousands of lives and showing real compassion.
Some things are more important than money.

I'd welcome us to do the same.

Yet you do exactly the same with Owen Jones and the guardian.

I find it hard to not burst out laughing but I will try.

If you think "The Guardian" is a reliable newspaper you need help, any academic will support that. It is a far left radical newspaper, the polar opposite of the mail. Both are as bad as each other. At least I can admit it but you lack the sense to look past you left wing ideals to see The Guardian for what it is. It lacks any credibility and has been falsely reporting stories for many years.

Your views wouldn't be out of place in the BNP, quite frankly you're disgustingly xenophobic.
Cheers.

Bornblue believes The a Guardian is a credible newspaper. He must of been dropped on his head because that is an insane claim

What Germany are doing is ridiculous. Putting refugees ahead of their own citizens is disgraceful, and all they're achieving through their actions is encouraging more and more people who have no real need to travel to Europe, to travel to Europe.
