Will my GCSEs be my downfall?

I've applied for History and Economics at Oxford, St Andrews and York and History at Durham and Exeter.
I achieved 3A*4A2B (with A* History) at GCSE and AAAB at AS (with A in History). I'm predicted A*A*A* in History, Lit and Maths.
Teachers have told me that my personal statement and written work is very good.
I'm confident with the HAT.
Yet will GCSEs damage my application?

I don't really know anything about Oxford, but you sound like you should be fine to me.
Your GCSEs are fine. Stop worrying - but remember that Oxbridge is always a bit of a lottery anyway.

Your GCSEs are fine. They're probably weaker than the average Oxford student's, but strong performance in the HAT and at interview would more than make up for that.

As the above poster said, Oxbridge is somewhat of a lottery anyway, so don't get too stressed about it - it's not as if the other unis you've applied for are bad lol.
