werde fortan auch besser auf meine Fehler achten, oder besser gesagt, besser darauf achten, meine Fehler auf ein Minimum zu beschränken anstatt alles zu locker und spontan hinzuschreiben. :wink:

This society has loads of members who all want help - if you just want to ask a specific question and don't want the chatty aspect of the society, you might be better off making your own thread in the foreign languages forum. :smile:

Hmm, don't take this the wrong way, but after looking at the posts you've made in this thread again, I still don't quite see what your grudge is, I'm afraid. :confused:

The first time you asked people to help you by correcting your mistakes, and when they agreed to do that, you stopped posting so there wasn't really anything they could have helped you with. The second time you asked for book suggestions, Billy gave you a few and as far as I could tell you seemed to be happy with those... If you want more advice / suggestions, perhaps it would help if you made it a bit clearer? :dontknow:

an.. und dann können wir ja anfangen, ein bisschen Niederländisch zu sprechen.. ist ja ne gute Idee ne? aber Russisch fängt auch an.. soll gut sein :smile:

und jetzt sprech in einen Freund von mir an, die mir von diesen Mädchen erzählt, die er während dieser Woche geküsst hat.. verdammte Mädchen.. kann kein nettes Mädchen finden und will keine unbekannte Schlampe küssen.. wenn man eine Freundin möchte, muss man angeblich so ein ARSCHLOCH sein.. mit großen Muskeln und eine dickkopfige Persönlichkeit.. DANN IST ES JA EINFACH... 4 Mädchen innerhald einer Woche hat er gehabt.. vieleicht bin ich ja komisch, wenn solche SCHEISS mir nicht anlockt..

jetzt guckt mal was ich wegen des Alkohols getippt hab.. tut mir wahnsinnig Leid.. :frown:

Are you trying to say "everything reminds me of Germany"? If so, it should be "Alles erinnert mich an Deutschland".

Question is - has it changed since the reform, or was it always the case that you didn't need a comma in there? I've confused myself now.

EDIT: I ask cos I was writing on Pages and it corrected it to say I didn't need a comma...so I looked it up. Hammers says no comma, but canoo, Heuber and Klett say yes comma.

I was told so at school, too, but it has changed. I've found this: Infinitivsätze und Partizipialsätze können duch Komma abgetrennt werden, sie können aber auch ohne Komma stehen. Hauptsatz, Infinitivsatz oder Partizipialsatz mit Komma möglich vor allem bei komplizierteren Sätzen hilfreich fürs Lesen.
Ich glaube die Kommaregeln seit der Reform enthalten jede Menge kann-Bestimmungen. Solange der Text auch ohne Kommas gut zu verstehen ist, kann man sie weglassen. Wird's komplizierter, sollte man, zum besseren Verständnis welche setzen. Ich selbst bin da wohl etwas in 'random-mood'.

das Grammatikbuch, in dem obiges steht ist von 2000 (Schroedel). Vielleicht hat sich zwischenzeitlich wieder einiges geändert, keine Ahnung. Die ganze Rechtschreibreform ist, glaub ich, nach wie vor ziemlich umstritten. Einige sind ganz glücklich damit, andere fanden sie völlig überflüssig. Ehrlich gesagt, mir ist es ziemlich wurscht, ich schreibe, wie ich es für richtig halte. Manches nach der Reform ist sinnvoller, aber vieles hat man eben auch ganz anders in der Schule gelernt (zumindest die älteren Semester, so wie meiner einer)

Before the reform you always had to put a comma before "erweiterter Infinitiv mit 'zu'"-clauses (except when the "Erweiterung" consisted of a single word). Now that comma is optional. You don't really have to put it, but it often makes sense to put it anyway, because it helps to structure the sentence and consequently makes it easier to understand.
So basically you can do whatever you like, as long as it doesn't make your sentences incomprehensibe. :smile:

OK, I apologise, I guess I was just feeling frustrated (and a little jealous...your German is like fluent), I guess with chatting in general, I'm always so shy to speak in German thinking that no-one would understand me... :o:
