Are trains considerably more expensive on bank holidays?

Hi

I'm in a bit of a dilemma where I'd like to book travel from Edinburgh to London on the bank holiday in May (29th).

I see that a train to London from EDI is costing over £120! I know that advance tickets generally come on sale 12 weeks before departure, but I also checked the following Monday and prices were more reasonable (around £40).

Flights on the other hand right now are around £70 for a reasonable time of departure and are going up.

I'm not sure whether to wait it out or not!

If anyone has any info regarding this, I'd much appreciate it !
A long journey like that on a bank holiday, yes you could probably expect there to be a lot of leisure travellers going home from a long weekend.

Depends where you live - I live in North London and looking at that I'd definitely fly - as long as the arrival airport is Luton or Stansted, Heathrow at a push.
