The Student Room Group

can a school actually be corrupted?

the rich pay teachers to get a higher mark on exams/ more trips/ better treated/better teaching

That's not corruption, it's capitalism.
You get what you pay for.
there are 2 students. student X and student Y both have exactley the same skills, predicted grades etc... however student X has a higher mark on an exam than student Y. YOU, person 1 looks at both tests from student X and student Y. student Y has been marked more strictly than student X and student X's parents are higher upper class but Student Y are from a working class family. + the teachers seem more nicer and more "1 on 1" with student X than Y's. could you assume that student X is paying the teacher? sidenote this is a state school
is it against school policy to get that? both students have the exact same skills/ same scores, but one student gets better "praise" and recognition from senior leaders. bear in mind that that student has richer parents
