I was 14 but said yes, is this statutory rape?

I don't really know how this site works and I'm new to it but here goes.
I'm never going to report this guy for what happened but I just want to have all the information for my own peace of mind.
Just a little background. This guy who was a friend of my brothers and who I knew for years was 6 years older than me. He was always a bit creepy shall I say. He was inappropriate on more than one occasion and touched me and tried to kiss me etc.
Anyway, I had my first boyfriend and things didn't turn out well and I was a bit distraught about the whole thing. General teen drama. But me and my friends went over to this guys house let's call him Jack. I had his number and one day after school I went over to his. I was 14 he was 20. We had some alcohol and at the time I hadn't drank much so I got drunk pretty easily. I thought I wanted to have sex and I didn't say no, in any way shape or form, I just want that to be clear, but I was very misinformed about sex. Anyway, we had sex and I felt disgusting after it. Even though I said yes, is this wrong?
Hi,

Yes, it is statutary rape as according to the law, no one under the age of 16 can consent to sex, or any sexual act.

What's more, because there is over 5 years age gap between you, there may well be paedophillic implications.

This is of course assuming you're British, because the age of consent varies in other countries. For example in some European countries, the age of consent is much younger.

Yes it is because you can't consent at 14 and you were drunk which suggests you wouldn't have known fully what you were doing. You should report him.
Report him. He's a predator.

According to law that is rape and the way you posed the question suggests you know fully well that it is. Doesn`t matter if you said yes. The fact that you were misinformed about sex suggests you didn`t pay attention to the sex education classes in high school. In my school they put on videos of all of all of this (not porn, I wish they did though lol) so you know what it kind of feels like. Plus, you have R.E. classes (religious education) where they talk about abortion, sex and other people’s opinions and there are so many underage girls who are pregnant it`s unbelievable. They talk about this in high school. So, what the hell were you doing in high school. Oh yes drinking. So, you knew that alcohol gets you drunk which by the way you must be over 18 as well to drink but you didn`t know anything about sex. I know you might be telling the truth, but I don`t believe that you would know about alcohol but you wouldn`t know about sex. I`m saying this is because when you are in your teens you like to experiment things with stuff like, weed, drugs, masturbating etc so obviously you know a thing or two about these stuffs. So, you not knowing, hhhmmm I don`t know. However, that isn`t much of an issue because the main issue was the idiot creepy guy of yours who gave you all of these things knowingly that what he was doing was wrong. The fact he had sex with you at that age is disgusting and he should be sent to jail which thanks to this country is a slap on the wrist. How old are you now, because if you have any evidence he can be prosecuted. If you still have the text messages, then that might be a start. He misinformed you because you didn`t pay attention in class so because you were vulnerable and innocent, he took advantage of that. I`m not blaming you so don`t have a go at me saying you are saying it was my fault bla bla bla. What I’m saying is you knew how to get a boyfriend, knew all about alcohol but you didn`t know about sex. It doesn`t make sense. If you were 10 or younger I wouldn`t even be posting this. But when you are 14 you are in year 8 or 9 and i am certain they do mention about sex education. Maybe they might have had a lesson on it but you didn`t want to pay attention to it because you thought it doesn`t concern you I don`t know. But like I said before he should be sent to jail, and his name should be on the sex offenders list.

Nah paedophilic doesn’t even come into it. She’d have to be a prepubulescent child for that to stand.

He’s likely a hebephile.

Yes legally it’s classed as rape in the U.K.

Now my opinion. Learn your lesson and grow the hell up.

If you done this with 50% of the Male population they would likely all do the same as this guy (Not saying I would because I like mature women). But at 14 you are practically a fully formed woman and you put yourself on a dinner plate for this guy.

Enough bullsh*t guys... You knew he was creepy. You also knew he had already tried to come onto you in the past. Knowing all this fullwell while you was sober you decided to go over to his house. Get drunk then bang him.

You knew you was going to have sex with him before you had the alcohol when you was sober.

People on here are like “Aww your just a child who have been abused by a predator”. But in reality you’re 14, not a child hence my response on here.

Yes he was wrong but you completely knew what was going to happen before you had alcohol and gone to his house.
Wow at some of the responses above. I would laugh at how ridiculous you sound if this wasn't a serious subject. Would you say the same about your 14 year old sister or daughter?? If so, you guys would be a **** brother and dad. Please change, and how about YOU grow up.

One of you has fully assumed that she had sex education and that she didn't listen in class, and you're both subtly hiding beneath your "yes, that is rape." stance to have a go at the girl. Shame on you. She was a child. How dare one of you comment on how she's a "fully formed woman" at that age, you have assumed that too because for one, not all girls are at that age, and two, she was 14!!! It doesn't matter how "fully-formed" she was. She was a child, of course she trusted this guy who was supposed to be an adult and know what he was doing.

No one wants your *****y opinion, seriously. Just leave.
how old are you now OP?

when you are 20 think to 14 year olds you see and imagine having sex with them... it's wrong, really wrong

yes, it was statutory rape and ignore the idiot saying every guy would do it- THEY WOULDN'T
That's vile. If he knew you're 14 it's rape. If he didn't know you're 14 it's not

You don’t really understand life do you?

She is 14, a teenager not a child. She doesn’t need sex education to know that going to a 20 year old guys house to shag him is a bad idea. It’s called common sense that most 14 year olds develop well before they are 14.

As she’s not a child in my opinion she should be held accountable for her actions too.

Some 14 year olds think they can do absolutely anything because, well, they are just 14... So they aren’t to blame for the actions they take.

Shes likely a mostly formed woman. She gone to a 20 year olds house with the intentions of having sex with him. She got what she wanted = /end

If she robbed a shop with an air soft gun and got caught she would face consequences. Why should having sex with someone be any different? Actions are actions and they have consequences.

Just to educate you these are called mitigating factors. All the above would be taken into account in court

Btw if you are so confident in what you say then why post anonymously? Lol

If you want to direct your answer to specific people it is best to quote them so they can respond in turn.

Lol, Sexual research shows that the sexual arousal of a male from a teenage girl is entirely normal.

MOST men find that they are aroused by teenage girls.

I guarantee you that every other guy who reads this post will agree. They just won’t admit it because they don’t have the balls lol.

Please do your research. Just because this might not be true for you doesn’t make the research any less real
