PM your UCAS number and I'll check whats going on. Something definitely isn't right if you applied on March 1st and haven't heard anything.

wait, are we allowed to put a preference for our halls? when I called up they told me weren't allowed.
Reply 1304
Nope but it hasn't stopped people doing it anyway.

BrenLee, are there bicycle sheds/shelters on the UP accomodation and near the centre of campus? Or am I going to have to lock my bike on a gate Cambridge-style?

Most (if not all) halls have their own bike sheds for which you can acquire a key or code. There are lots of places around campus where you can lock bikes to - some are covered, some are not. There is a large bike store in the old engineering building (next to the accommodation office, opposite Hallward Library) which is university card access only. There's a similar one on Jubilee.

Thank you! I just want to make sure my precious bike will be safe because I really can't face the ten minute walk to lectures.

None of the halls on campus are self-catered.
Self-catered halls outside campus are Broadgate Park, St. Peter's Court, Riverside, Opal1, Albion House, Raleigh Park etc.
The only ones near UP would be Broadgate Park and Albion House.
For socialing, I'd say Broadgate Park but usually it depends on how you make of it.

BrenLee I saw on one of the many Nottingham Facebook groups that all beds on uni campus are being upgraded to 1 1/2 this year, can you confirm this?

I've been given a single study room in Hugh Stewart, but I haven't heard of anyone else getting one there, only large single studies! So I'm just wondering whether there actually ARE any single study rooms in Hugh Stewart?

There are, but the vast majority of rooms are large single study, and shared ensuite (and possibly private shared bathroom -- I was never really clear what the difference is).
I've noticed that there seems to be very few en-suites available :/

really random question but.... do all the rooms in Cavendish Hall have single beds??

(just wondering about what size sheets to buy)
