30% of my overall mark was for my essay
70% of my overall mark was for my portfolio
I received 45 out of 100 for the essay
and I received 62 out of 100 for the portfolio
What would be overall mark be? It was my first assignment, I'm terrible at maths so if anyone could also explain how to work it out that'd be amazing (y)

45 + 62 = 107
107 divided by 2 = 53.5
Overall mark is 53.5
I think that’s how it’s done.

The above is incorrect.
You have
45 * 0.3 = 13.5
62* 0.7 = 43.4
13.5 + 43.4 = 56.9
