Apprenticeship

HI, just recently I have applied for a 4-year apprenticeship with a company in electrical engineering. Anyone have any idea what an apprenticeship in this field requires as I have the basic gist but need further insight, also would like some advice on if I was accepted, what would be required and expected of me.
Furthermore, I am colourblind and would like to know if this would affect future career plans for me and also how I could overcome these obstacles.
