Raf regiment gunner

Hi can anyone tell me how many hours a day RAF Regiment gunners work? also do they work on night shift guarding the air feels ?

Hi

It depends on where you're posted and into which role within the Regt. If you're deployed operationally then yes, you'll be working 24/7 guarding the airfield and a large radius beyond it.

If you're posted in the UK then you're likely to be doing exercises in readiness for whatever element of the role you're doing. If on Queens Colour Sqn, for example, you're likely to be doing events around the UK. You could be guarding places like Buckingham Palace, you could be on exercise training other armed forces elsewhere in the world.

Have you been to the RAF Regt Recruitment Facebook page? They have videos on there of what the Regt do etc.

Guard duty is everyone's job, day to day you wont be guarding much. Excersise consist of infantry skills. Otherwise your timetable varies depending on if you get any squadron jobs done.
