Gaming during Uni?

I will be starting Uni at the end of September doing a course in computer science and I'm wondering whether there will be time for gaming? I currently have a broken ps4 which I can get fixed for around £100 but am not sure whether I should or not, given I've heard there won't be much opportunity to use it. I'm not an avid gamer but it is something I enjoy and incorporate to my daily lifestyle. For some extra context - I will be living in University halls, and depending on which one I'm allocated there may be a games room which has its own console for all the residents there.
As someone who has just completed my first year doing computer science at a top 10 university, I can confirm that you will have time to play games. Make sure you don’t go overboard and manage your time well. Although, with the coronavirus situation you will probably have lots of it judging by the lack of social activities.

Definitely dedicate some time to hobbies like gaming. I really can't emphasise this enough when you first move away. You'll suddenly have a lot of spare time which you'll no doubt fill with socials etc, but when you're tired or have finished freshers' week, you'll need something to unwind.

I've used my 3DS/Nintendo Switch and my computer throughout my undergraduate and postgraduate degrees as well as whenever I've been abroad (especially when abroad!).

Definitely would recommend this. Make sure to also have a list of movies or TV shows you want to watch.

You really dont want to go to uni, pay to be in Halls and then spend time in your room playing with yourself. If there is a gaming facility in the Halls, use that rather than paying to fix you ps4. If you take your PS4 and then your room may become the 'hang out' place for others to come and play. It may end up disrupting your studies when you want to focus on your course (asking people to vacate your room and stop eating your chocolate biscuits or the homemade cake from your mum is not fun). If you are a male heterosexual then you are dramatically reducing your chances of meeting females. If you still cannot live with your PS4 then get it fixed during the Christmas break and take it along in S2.

You make some fair points, but all things considered, surely I will still have some free time at which point I will have nothing else to do? I can't imagine myself socialising at every given opportunity, maybe If i wanted to relax after a long study session or a long day a game or two will be acceptable?
