How many driving lessons will I need?

So I had loads of driving lessons years ago and was test ready but never took the test and haven't done any driving since. I'm going back into it soon with an professional instructor and remember most of what I've learnt. How many lessons will I need before I'm test ready again and should I tell the instructor I haven't done any driving for years or just say I've had loads of lessons before and just drive and see how it goes. I'm worried if I say I've not driven for years then the instructor will want to give me refresher lessons and not let me drive which would be a waste of my time since I remember most of how to drive and will be able to start the car without being told what to do.

I would be honest with your instructor tell him/her that you have lessons in the past but you haven't driven for a while. They probably will take you on a general drive first of all and see what you can remember and how you react to traffic then go from there.
