After phys1114 in the summer, thanks to the terrible midterm, I got just a C!
This brings my cumulative GPA down to 2.86, but it is still a 2:1!
I am doing 18 credits in the fall term, so please move this to GYG 2022-23! By the way, I added ELEC1010 Electronic and Information Technology to my class list, from the base 15 (with math2111 replacing math2121 as well).
I found my groupmate for the extra credit project, which is a guy who went to the Alpha Relish last Sunday evening. It is great to use this to sustain a relationship with him!

Fantastic result. Well done! 🙂

Daily updates are back!

HK cases: 10683

Even though we have so many cases, HKUST is back to in person classes!
Due to myself taking six modules this term, the workload is getting bigger. Nevertheless, I did work for two modules today, first finishing the Coursera stuff for the first chapter of phys2022, even completing the assignment before the first lecture. I also looked through the mech2310 tutorial notes and attempted the four problems on it. To my surprise, all my answers were correct even before the stuff is covered in class!

HK cases: 10021

I did work for three modules today and it is now the new normal!
Mech2020: Went through the second set of notes and did some of the problems on it. To my surprise my answers are correct!
Elec2420: Also went through the second set of notes.
Math2111: Did some practice on elementary matrix operations, covered in the first lecture today.

HK cases: 10194

I did work for an incredible four modules today!
Math2111: I revised Row Reduction and Echelon Form.
Mech2020: I kept doing practice problems on Equilibrium of particles.
Elec2420: I did some practice problems on the Fundamentals chapter as we have finished covering it today.
Elec1010: I read through the slides to be covered tomorrow.

Mech2020: Helped a struggling classmate with equilibrium of particles. I demonstrated some practice problems.
Mech2310: Did practice problems on the first chapter.
Elec2420: Did practice problems on the Fundamentals chapter.
Phys2022: Completed week 2 of Coursera over the weekend and emailed the problem I cannot explain to my TA.
Elec1010: Read through lecture notes and memorized key points in the lunch queue.
Math2111: Continued to do stuff on Row Operations.

Despite spending the evening out with a UFO contact and the morning at church, I still did work for two modules!
Mech2020: Did a few more practice problems on Equilibrium of Particles.
Math2111: Finished the first assignment, even though not all the stuff were covered!

So there is absolutely no need to skip church meetings to study!

Over the past week, I am consistently doing problems for mech2020, mech2310 and elec2420. For mech2310, I am in a strong position to attack an A as I got a past exam problem (from 2016) answered correctly within two weeks of the term! I have also finished all but one video of week 3 of phys2022, as well as started reading on our topic for the group presentation.
I am currently putting math2111 away. But now I have the textbook, so next week I will do some more math2111!

I did work for three modules again!
Math2111: Did problems on matrix vector product and vector operations, which were covered in the past two lectures.
Elec2420: Completed the second assignment due on 3RD OCTOBER. Also did some problems on superposition and voltage/current divider (my weakest topic so far).
Phys2022: Completed the third assignment and edited stuff for my project presentation.

The first mech2020 quiz is coming next Tuesday. If I got below mean, the following will be the result of Arsenal vs Liverpool, to be played on 9th October:

But if I get full marks, the following will be the result:

As it's my first midterm tomorrow, the only thing I worked on today was 2111, the module the midterm is in, going full force again!

In terms of inviligated assessments for this semester, there's just one so far, the 2020 quiz which I got a perfect score.

Two midterms down.
Both of them went quite well, except for the last problem of phys2022 which I left 75% of it blank. But thanks to their strange weighted total in their exam mark calculation, I should still get a decent grade.
I have my 2420 midterm and the second 2020 quiz soon. I got stuck on a problem on a 2420 past exam and I have uploaded it to TSR. If anyone can help please reply to my thread "Op Amp problem (urgent)", thanks!

Midterm #3 (2420) was completed. It was TERRIBLE. I think I will use other modules to make up for it.
Hopefully the 2020 quiz tomorrow is fine.

I have a module to make up for 2420 fortunately, and it's 2020!
I have just gotten my second 100% in a row on a quiz. These 2 quizzes count as 30% of my grade combined, which is a lot. It was really worth it working on practice problems for 2 hours straight on seven days in a row! If I continue my 100% streak into the remaining quiz (15%) and final exam (40%), guess what will happen....
I will receive the top grade of A+, worth the maximum 4.3 points!
I need an average slightly below 3.3 to get my scholarship back. Even if 2420 was a disaster and the grade was a C+, an A+ in 2020 pulls it back to an average of 3.3 in the two modules.

The last two midterms for 1010 and 2310 were completed. I bombed the last question for 2310 but the rest were fine.
I have just a 2111 assignment to finish today, and a 2420 assignment to finish tomorrow. I will be having less intensive studying this week (just some 2111 and 2420 practice as a chapter was just completed recently for both modules) before going back to full throttle next week, as I will be losing 4 days due to a trip to Tokyo to celebrate my 20th birthday!

I received my 2022 midterm score and it was:
38%.
At this moment I think that the minor in physics is not for me. The notation I am seeing in class is too complex. I may either minor in maths (reusing the credits from 2411 A from last sem), or cut my study load to 4 modules starting from the next semester and graduate without a minor.

A T8 signal was hoisted today. This storm, Nalgae, is the third storm this year to cause this signal to be hoisted.
As a result, a lab was postponed, a lecture went online and a tutorial got canceled as a result.

The 1010 midterm score is out, and it is:
80%
It's still decent, but I think I could have done better. I will go to the paper checking tomorrow.

Now mainly working on preparing for the 2020 quiz in the 4th week of the month. After the quiz I will have some relaxation in Tokyo, before preparing for the finals! I need to get another 100% for 2020!

An extra 5% has been added to my phys2022 midterm! It may be crucial to save my dying grade in that module…
By the way, the math2111 midterm score is out. It is:
70%

There are people who always breeze through these stuff because of their solid background on linear algebra and come back with very high marks. I am essentially starting from zero but still picked up 70%.
A score of 80% in the final will take my overall score to 79, which may make me sneak into the A range grades. So math2111 will be one I am working on the most heading into the finals.

Now 2420, 2020 and 2111 are what I am mainly working on, doing stuff for all three of these every day.

I went to 2111 paper checking and found that almost all of my marks are lost to multiple choice! I will be working more on this type of questions heading into the final.
And for 2420… just rip it. I hope it’s better in the final.
