Student Oyster card help

Hi!

I recently moved to London from Ireland for uni have a student oyster card. On Sunday I purchased a discounted student travelcard between zones 1 to 3 online and tried to collect the card the following day. The transaction was successful and oyster have taken 116 pounds off me but the travelcard has not loaded on to my photocard. On my photocard account it is listed under my orders but it's not physically on my card. Every time I've touched off a yellow card reader it's shown a red light and failed.
I rang oyster and they were no help. Am I doing something wrong or does this just happen from time to time? I can't purchase a new travelcard because it says that I have an existing travelcard with overlapping dates even though it's not on my card - what do I do?
