Did some unis increase their grade criteria only b/c of covid grade inflation?

Grading and assessments during covid and the years after that until this year were apparently deliberately less strict. Does that mean that caused grade inflation? Did some universities increased their grade requirements only to counter such grade inflation?

I don’t know that any amended their typical offers but I’m sure many tweaked their internal offer making criteria to be more selective.

Look if the uni is offering AAA already, there was little room for increasing the offer. The covid bump is behind us now and unis are making offers based on predicted grades since people will be sitting their exams again and it will not be teacher-assessed grades.
