accomodation in Reading as insurance choice?

I've just put Reading as my insurance and was wondering how it works with accom if its your insurance?
are you still guaranteed to get university accom? Should I apply now or only if I don't get into my firm?

Hello @floppyfish, so our accommodation guarantee is only applicable for those who firm Reading (and they apply before 1st August). You will not be able to apply for accommodation until the University of Reading becomes your firm choice.
Whilst this is the case , we do have plenty of accommodation on and off campus , and like students in the past usually you will be able to quickly find a place in halls or privately rented accommodation.
