Can you go into diplomacy with a human right masters?

Hi,
I'm applying to masters and want to study human rights. However, I also think down the line I'd like to go into diplomacy, or at least have the option to. Do you think it's possible to go into diplomacy with a human rights degree or is it better to do a public policy related course?

The first step in the research would be to look at the job profile for the role for the relevant country (UK in your case, presuming you're British):

https://nationalcareers.service.gov.uk/job-profiles/diplomatic-service-officer

Notice that none of the webpages mention anything about a master's degree. You can go into the sector with just GCSEs and work your way up. The highest qualification that would be of any benefit would be a bachelor's in any subject (not that they care what you did your degree in) provided you have a high enough grade (2:2+).
If anything, I would focus applying for the right government stream for the work.

Doing the master's would be of benefit if you want to go into academic research in human rights or public policy.
