Groningen ReMA MHIR or Leiden's MSc IRD

Hi,

I've recently been accepted to both Groningen's research masters in modern history and international relations program and Leiden's masters of science in international relations and diplomacy. I'm seeking to specialise in political economy and potentially go on to do a PhD but going to Leiden could be an excellent way to keep my professional doors open given its placement at the Hague and guaranteed internships. Additionally, the prestige of Leiden is high and I am unsure of how well Groningen matches up, though its faculty appears to suit my research interests better potentially.

I wanted to ask if anyone had any insights on these two institutions or their respective programs.

Thanks

Hi,

I'm currently facing the exact same dilemma with the exact same programs. I would personally prefer studying in Groningen but I think Leiden's reputation is somewhat better and it also offers an internship, as you mentioned. I wonder how much it matters at the end of the day, though. Let me know what you have chosen?
