Newcastle University Clearing Thread

Hi Everyone !

Clearing is now open and available if you are looking to apply to university.

If you have any questions about Clearing, please feel free to ask and discuss them here. Whilst we will not be able to advise people whether they meet our entry requirements through Clearing, we will try and help as much as we can.

As this is one of the busiest times of the year for us, there may be a delay in responding to any questions that you have, but we will try our best to respond promptly.

We do have a number of places available in Clearing for September 2023 entry. A provisional list of courses with availability can be found here.

From 5th July 2023 you’re eligible to apply through Clearing if you have your results and:

you’re a UK student submitting a new application after 5th July 2023

you didn’t receive any offers (or none you wanted to accept)

you didn’t meet the conditions of your offers

you’ve declined your firm place using the ‘decline my place’ button in UCAS Track

If you have achieved your results, you can contact us by calling 0191 208 3333 and pressing option 1, by using the Live Chat service on our website or by using our Enquiry Form to check if the course you are interested in has entered into Clearing and if you meet the entry requirements.

If you are waiting for your results, please sign up for essential resources and exclusive updates on Clearing and what to expect this Results Day! Further guidance can be found on our dedicated Clearing 2023 pages.

Scottish students receiving SQA results on Tuesday 8th August can call 0191 208 3333 from 10am to speak with a Clearing advisor, or alternatively email [email protected].

Our main Clearing Hotline, 0800 073 5050, and live chat service will open on A Level Results Day, Thursday 17th August at 08:00am.

For International applicants, you can contact us to discuss options through Clearing by calling 0191 222 5000.

We do have an Offer Holder Helpline,  0191 222 5100, which will be available from Thursday 17th August at 08:00am to answer any questions you have if you have an offer from Newcastle University.

Chosen which degree you would like to apply for and already received your IB results? Call our hotline between Thursday 6 to Friday 14 July from 09:00-17:00 on 0191 222 5106

For further information you can also visit the UCAS Clearing pages.

Good Luck

Is it possible that Clearing Courses showing with vacancies for UK applicants now, may have had all their places filled before A Level results day, i.e. those taking IB and SQA exams may have got offers for them early

Hi Anonymous

As different qualifications have different results days and some applicants have already achieved their grades, some places may fill up during Clearing. However, there will be courses available through Clearing on A Levels Results Day and we would advise that you contact us once you have your results to check which courses are available and whether you meet our Clearing entry requirements.

Hope this helps

Elliott
