What was the reason you were fired?

Hi I was dismissed for gross misconduct and I did tell my manager because of my anxiety I didn’t feel comfortable working on my own

All you can do now is just wait for a reply but if you were fired for gross misconduct the chances of a successful appeal don’t sound good to me.

What did you actually do, or not do, that constitutes gross misconduct?

Typically appeals are a charade as the decision has been made. Get your story together and be remorseful about the phone. Better still see if there’s a union rep who can give you some support

I was fired for being on my phone and as money went missing, but they didn’t have enough evidence and know I been told more money gone missing and I have been told I good chance of winning

Be honest, did you pocket some cash??

I put in the safe and it went missing at the end of my shift as I thought I was going to have a panic attack

So why are they mentioning money then if you’re not being accused of it and why is that relevant to your gross misconduct dismissal?

They didn’t mention the money once only cared that I was on my phone

Ok, so that's probably grounds for dismissal anyway.

It's the best, you get a day off out of nowhere, problems the next day sure but a day off NOW with no more rules beyond those any bar that opens at 8am cares about.

Lmaooooo. But now I find annual leave days go by too quickly so that one day off isn’t worth it looool.

If you’re not doing the work as per your contract because you’re too busy scrolling tiktok and Instagram then they have grounds to fire you tbh. This probably wasn’t the first time you were caught on your phone, was it?

It's not the same as leave/sunday dreads, it's just like being gently invited to leave/forcibly escorted from your responsibilities in one big sigh followed by invigorating daylight
