Does my Durham alumni history teacher give me an advantage?

I want to study history at Durham. My history teacher studied history there and will be writing part of my reference. Does this give me any advantage, is there even any way the uni would know that she went there, or would it just be a good recommendation from my teacher?
No advantage at all.

No, of course it doesn't.

1) How on earth could that be deemed equitable to other applicants.
2) Unis dont give a stuff who taught you at A level.
3) This isn't America.
The correct declension here would be alumna - alumni is Nom. Pl. Masc., alumna is the Nom. Sg. Fem.
