Leaving degree apprenticeship for uni

If I leave my degree apprenticeship early and apply to uni through clearing. Am I able to apply to uni before leaving my degree apprenticeship - I don’t want to leave it before I have an offer from uni.

When applying through clearing the uni asked if I had studied before and I put my first year degree apprenticeship -do you think they will contact my uni/workplace?
