2 marks off an 8 for maths GCSE should i still do A level maths?

i was 2 marks off an 8 for maths GCSE and im wondering if i should still do A level. I'd like to get into dentsitry so i need at least AAA and im unsure if taking maths will stop me from achieving what i need.
Well, I think you achieved a respectable mark. Maths at A-Level is a bit of a step-up but I found it to be a fun subject, with only occasional urges to bang my head senseless against the table  I'm only kidding of course. You will be challenged but it will be a very nice subject to take and will probably help you with your dentistry application (seems like dentistry schools love Maths at A-Level but it isn't strictly a requirement so you could get away with not doing it - but check entry requirements!). If you liked it and think you can do better at Maths and are willing to put in the effort to do better, go for it
