English lit a level flashcards

Do we need to make flashcards for A-Level lit as we get the books in the exams? So do we need to memorise quotes like at GCSE or not?

hi there!
Which exam board are you studying with? For AQA B, we only get half of the texts (one paper) as open book so we definitely do need to know quotations for the other paper. Memorising quotations is also useful for the open book paper (especially knowing some key quotations) as it means you get more time to write and less time to spend panicking about a specific quotation and searching the text to find it. On the whole I'd say learn quotations anyway, and if you're in year 12, spend time learning what happens in the texts before you learn oodles of quotations. Hope that helps you!
