Cost of resitting chemistry

How much would it cost to resit chemistry a level ocr a as a private candidate?
Not factoring in tutors, I have a scholarship for free to an Uplearn course. I mean just resitting the exam without practical assessment, invigilators etc included

Depends where you do it. Although the actual exam fee is fixed by OCR (£126.25), the cost of taking the exam depends on the fees added by the centre.

Ask your previous school as they are likely to be the cheapest option.

The JCQ web site might help you find an alternative centre that you could ask for a price https://www.jcq.org.uk/private-candidates/

Tutors and Exams are typical of what you might pay for a specialist tutorial/exam provider https://www.tutorsandexams.uk/ their current price is £460

There are 2 fees you need to be aware of: exam fees/subject fees and admin fee.
If you google for OCR's fees, you would find the following website: https://www.ocr.org.uk/administration/fees/
If you scroll down to find the appropriate PDF, you would find the following: https://www.ocr.org.uk/Images/689947-qualification-fees-general-qualifications-2023-24.pdf
Subject fee for chemistry A Level is £126.25 (hopefully you're doing OCR A)

I cannot find the appropriate admin fee for the subject, and doing a bit more googling, it appears that the individual exam centre charge their own fees. See the fee section in: https://www.ocr.org.uk/students/private-candidates/
So rule of thumb is any exam centre in a dense city with really high taxes and expensive maintenance would be charging significantly higher admin fees that say an exam centre in the middle of the country, ideally in a school or public building.
