Speaking

When I'm out in public whether it's a store, restaurant or uni I am a confident speaker and talk really well with others, this is something I am often praised for and I am usually put forward to make enquiries for things in some situations . But when it comes down to speaking in front of a crowd or a class I get really anxious and my throat just dries up.

I'm annoyed at this and it even happens when I'm in online meetings too. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to improve my ability to speak in front of crowds and how to become less nervous and more confident?

Good preparations and just as importantly lots of practice. Nervousness does go with experience

It's a normal thing. Preparation helps as Zarek said. I am an actor so I do it all the time, but even then I still feel awkward when I can see the audience's faces. If possible, you could ask for the lights to be dimmed although that will only be effective in certain situations.
