Can I get my national insurance number from student finance?

I got my NI when I was 16 but have moved house a number of times since then and so the letter has been lost. I applied for student finance and got those payments, so I must have given it to them. But after looking though my details on the site and on some letters, it doesn't seem to mention it. Is there a way I could find my number through them?

If you login to the "manage your student loan" portal, not the application portal - though it uses the same login details, at the below link, on the right hand side, at the bottom of the column headed by your name and CRN, there should be a link to "Download your 'active plan type letter' (PDF)" in the What's my plan type?" section that's intended for you to show to employers to confirm your plan type, and contains your NI number.

Just request a new letter
