Law

Would an international relations with business degree be good to break into law or even the finance sectors?
Hi there,

I'm not too sure if this will be answering you question, but here is my answer.

If you are working towards a UK degree and would like to become a solicitor, for example, you would not be required to complete a law degree, when you complete the SQE to become a solicitor. (Although previously if you were to complete an LPC you would need a law degree). However to complete an SQE, you are required to have completed at least 2 years of legal (law) work experience.

Nevertheless, many lawyers and lecturers recommend students to do a law degree, if they wish they become a solicitor or barrister, as you will be equipped with the fundamental and substantive knowledge of law, especially in relation to criminal law, contract law, the legal system of the UK etc.

I hope this helps.

Best wishes,
