UCAS MISTAKE - advice please

My son has submitted 4 med unis and fifth pharmacy choice , but after submitting decided to change his 5th option for pharmacy to another university (for pharmacy) . He chose pharmacology by accident at the new university and ucas will Not allow him to change it again as he has already changed it once. Is it better he withdraws from pharmacology as he has no interest in doing that even as a 5th option, then In July ring around other uni to see if they have space for pharmacy. If he withdraws his pharmacology application it will Leave him with just 4 submissions for medicine to ucas , or keep it even though he won’t take it. Final course of action being if he doesn’t get medicine is to go through clearing for medicine / pharmacy

Try and email the university and see if they will be willing to consider him for pharmacy. If they don't agree, it's better to withdraw it and go through clearing if he doesn't meet his offer. Shouldn't be stuck studying something you couldn't care about for three years.

Thanks problem we have the uni he chose doesn’t do pharmacy , which is partly how he made the mistake . So which of below is best of options
1)withdraw from pharmacology , can he reapply in July 4?
2) ignore offer if it comes, hope he gets one offer from 4 medicine offers ,
3) if no offers from medicine then go through clearing for medicine/pharmacy in august

Pharmacy nearly always has space in clearing. It’s a shortage profession. It’s a fifth option anyway though, and one he may well change his mind about by the time august rolls around.
