Best approach to query a rejection

Application is for a niche creative arts course. Lots of prior discussions/review of work with course tutors/admissions to make sure not pushing at a locked door as mature student for consideration on the basis of experience and portfolio - which course info says they do. Ticked the UCAS box for no qualifications. Reference from current educational placement will have referred to reasons no qualifications.

Universities applied to came back with 'where's your Level 3 or predicted Level 3 grades' Clarified this. One university has come back with portfolio review date offer... the other has rejected outright.... on the basis of lack of qualifications (despite having a 'with foundation year' option)

What's the best route to check this isn't a 'computer says no' type mistake - admissions? Course staff?
