PhD Prospects for MSc Psychology Conversion students

Hi, new here! I'm currently completing a MSc psychology (conversion) due to complete in 2024. I'm interested in pursuing a career in research and therefore starting to inform myself on the funded PhD options but I'm finding that most of the current PhD candidates all have first degrees in relevant fields with masters in more specialised areas of psychology like cognitive neuroscience or developmental neuroscience etc. Of course like anyone taking a conversion masters, my background is not in science but in marketing with first degree in business. I can't help but feel as though, regardless of grades, I'm not a particularly competitive applicant without a more focused MSc. My question is if there are any MSc conversion students out there that were successful in obtaining a funded PhD straight from completion of the conversion degree?
