Red light
Hi I went through a red light and I know it’s dangerous but there was four sets of lights and I just thought mine was on green, I got flashed and have had a letter through saying it’s to serious for the police to deal with and I have to go to court
I have no points but have only had my licence for over a year.
I’m scared I’ll get a ban , had anyone had anything similar happen ?

Red light offence carries penalty of £100 to £1,000, with 3 to 6 points on your licence.
If you receive 6 points, DVLA will automatically revoke your licence and you will have to re-pass your driving test.
